    Ellen Sheets M.D., MBA
    President and Chief Executive Officer

    Dr. Sheets joined CSA Medical, Inc. in July 2012. She brings to the company a broad range of experience within the medical diagnostic, device and pharmaceutical industries as well as more than 15 years in clinical and academic positions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Most recently, Dr. Sheets served as Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of North American R&D at QIAGEN, Inc. where she led a matrixed IVD business team overseeing product development, sales/marketing, clinical trial and constituency relations programs in developing novel diagnostic markers and instrument platforms. Previously, she served as Chief Medical Officer at Predictive Biosciences, where she was instrumental in raising over $45M in venture support. From 2002-2008, Dr. Sheets was Chief Medical Officer at Hologic, Inc. (previously Cytyc Corporation), where she was responsible for medical education, clinical trials, advocacy, government affairs and reimbursement strategies. In this position she directly contributed to identifying and acquiring opportunities that grew top line revenue from $250M to over $750M. She earned Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from New York University.

    Ian J. Vawter
    Chief Financial Officer

    Mr. Vawter joined CSA Medical, Inc. in July 2014 with more than 15 years of financial management and leadership experience, the majority of which have been with medical device companies spanning from venture capital backed start-ups to major multi-nationals. Most recently, Mr. Vawter was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance for iWalk, Inc., a private medical device company specializing in the research, development and commercialization of a portfolio of bionic lower extremity prosthetics. From 2008 through 2010, he was responsible for the US finance organization of Tissue Science Laboratories, a publicly traded UK-based medical device company dedicated to the research, development, and commercialization of tissue implant products, then operating under acquirer, Covidien. Prior to joining Covidien, he held advancing positions, culminating with his appointment as Chief Financial Officer at EDAP TMS, S.A. – a publicly traded French medical device company. He is a graduate of Norwich University.

    Sherrie Coval-Goldsmith
    Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance

    Ms. Coval-Goldsmith joined CSA Medical in 2013 with more than 25 years of medical device experience working with companies including C.R. Bard, Stryker and GI Dynamics. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for developing QA, RA and CA teams as well as achieving several approvals/clearances for investigational and commercialization submissions world-wide. She earned her Master of Science degree from Tufts University where she focused her studies in the area of Public Health.

    Jean Bjerke, MBA
    Vice President, Marketing

    Ms. Bjerke joined CSA Medical in April 2017 with 25+ years of experience in the medical device industry, 9 years in sales and over 17 years in marketing at Johnson & Johnson, Smith & Nephew and most recently, as the Vice President of Marketing at Anika Therapeutics, Inc. While at Anika, Ms. Bjerke was responsible for developing and implementing global marketing strategic and tactical programs in addition to executing and integrating external and internal innovation to broaden and enhance the portfolio of products. She earned her MBA from Saint Louis University, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in economics.

    John P O’Connor, Ph.D.
    Vice President, Software & Systems Engineering

    Dr. O’Connor joined CSA Medical, Inc. in August 2015 with 25+ years of experience in the medical device, aviation security and semiconductor industries driving marketing, design, development, and program management of cost-effective, complex production equipment. Most recently, as Chief Technology Officer at Analogic Corporation, Dr. O’Connor led advanced technology development and intellectual property generation, concurrent with the discovery and nurturing of disruptive technologies from academia and industry. Previously, Dr. O’Connor served as General Manager of Endovations at Boston Scientific, leading development of the industry’s first single-use endoscopic system; accomplishing program development and positioning for successful regulatory approvals and commercialization. He has led organizations during breakthrough technological and marketing changes and through overall product life cycles, and currently has 10 U.S. patents issued in addition to 9 pending. Dr. O’Connor holds an A.B. in Physics and Mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross and a Ph.D. in Physics from Yale University.

    Brian Hanley, MBA
    Senior Director, Catheter Research & Development

    Mr. Hanley joined CSA Medical, Inc. in March 2013. As Senior Director, Catheter R&D, he leads strategy and development for the Company’s catheter platform and therapeutic accessories. He brings to CSA Medical 15 years of medical device engineering and program management experience with a focus on product development and commercialization. Most recently, he held senior engineering and project management positions at Hologic, responsible for all phases of the product lifecycle. Prior to that, he spent 8 years in advancing positions at Boston Scientific Corporation with a concentration on both organic new product development and co-development alliances with companies of varying size. Mr. Hanley earned both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University.

    Ann Murphy-Legg, RN
    Senior Director, Clinical Research

    Ms. Murphy Legg joined CSA Medical, Inc. in 2013 with 17 years of experience working in diagnostics, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining CSA Medical Inc., she held various leadership positions at Predictive Biosciences and Battelle CRO, including creating clinical operations at both companies. Ms. Murphy Legg is a registered nurse and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Boston College.
